# DP Automation > DP Automation builds AI software for HVAC and building automation. It collects trend data from a building's existing control system (Niagara 4, EC-Net, BACnet/IP), shows it in a fast web trend viewer, and uses AI to review the data and write engineering findings. Based in San Diego, California. Contact: dallas@dpautomation.net ## What it does - **Trend Viewer** (live): every HVAC trend log from every building in one phone-friendly web viewer. Overlay points, zoom into any time range. Each login sees only its own buildings. - **AI Trend Review** (live): reads days or weeks of building automation trend data and writes a findings report: what is wrong, the evidence from the data, and what to check first. - **Sequence Checks**: turns a written sequence of operations into checks and grades each unit PASS or FAIL against real trend data, for commissioning and functional testing. - **Ask Your Building** (in development): plain-English questions answered from the building's trend data. Read-only by design. - **Service Reports** (live): phone-first app that turns a technician's notes, photos and voice memos into a letterheaded service report (Word or PDF). - **Install Checklists** (live): per-equipment controls installation checklists built from the controls drawings, with photo proof and sign-off. ## What the AI review finds - Dead, stale, flatlined and out-of-range sensors - Starved VAV boxes: dampers pinned open while airflow falls short of setpoint - Zones that cannot hold setpoint - Plant equipment short cycling, hunting or running when it should not - Equipment that does not follow its sequence of operations ## Key facts - Works with: Niagara 4 and EC-Net 4 stations (Tridium, Distech Controls and other Niagara-based systems) by scheduled history push; other BACnet/IP systems through a small on-site collector. - Read-only: never writes setpoints, schedules or commands to building equipment. - Privacy: each building's data is stored in its own database; demos use a fictional building. - How it differs from rule-based fault detection and diagnostics (FDD): instead of a long list of fixed-rule alarms, the AI groups related symptoms into a short list of findings, shows the evidence in plain English, and says what to check first. - For: facility managers and building owners, controls contractors and service technicians, commissioning agents. - Founder: Dallas Probert, building automation specialist, Tridium Niagara 4 certified, B.S. Engineering Physics, programming and servicing HVAC controls since 2018. ## Links - [Home](https://dpautomation.net/) - [FAQ](https://dpautomation.net/#faq) - [Contact](mailto:dallas@dpautomation.net)
